Randers – “The City of the Rainforest”

Randers is a city in central Denmark with a population of about 60,000 people. It is easily accessible by land and water. It is known for its largest rainforests in Northern Europe, with over 350 different species of plants and over 175 species of animals. The city has a unique zoo, which recreates the natural conditions, flora and fauna of South America, Africa and Asia.
The largest artificial ski slope in the world is being built in Raners. Here you will witness many events at the Værket Music and Theater House, as well as various concerts at the Skyline Arena. “Week 33” is the week of the city, when many open-air concerts, special events and activities for both children and adults are held. The unique Elvis Presley Museum is also a must-see in Randers. Here you will have the opportunity to fish in the local river, as well as ride a canoe, if you like high extreme experiences.
There is also an indoor pool with a modern spa. The city library is a huge complex that includes a museum and a gallery. The city is full of buildings dating back to the distant past, making the city mysterious and colorful, the most popular of which is the medieval hotel Randers Hotel.
Randers is one of the cities where you will find a student room a bit easier than in the other Danish cities. This is due to the fact that the city is not so big and majority of students focus mainly on the capital, and on the other 4-5 larger cities. This, of course, does not mean that you do not have to apply for accommodation. You certainly do not want to rent one of the more expensive rooms or live in a room on the outskirts of the city. Always apply for accommodation in each city where you have decided to apply for a study program. Here you will be able to rent a single room as well as share a room with someone else if you want your rent to be as low as possible.
