Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark. It is one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia, but today it is one of the “youngest” due to the average age of the population – about 16% of its population is made up of students, attending universities in Aarhus. Thanks to the large number of businesses in the city, the students are able to find part-time work much faster after their daily lectures at the university or in the weekends.
Aarhus is a city, where the nature is everywhere around youe. The beach, the port and the forest are in a 15-minute bike ride from the center. Make no mistake, you won’t wonder how to fill your free time here, as Aarhus is a center of art, culture and sports – conditions for recreation are just great. There are 2 airports near Aarhus – Aarhus Airport and Billund, which is the largest, but farther from the city – only 95 km. The railway transport is well developed, which is the main connection with the other cities. The people in the city most often use buses (excluding cyclists). Most buses pass through the Central Square or Park Ale. Here you can also travel by ferry – both to Copenhagen and to Sweden, Norway and other destinations. If you still don’t have your own bike, which we definitely advise you to buy, you can use the free city bikes from April 1 to October 30.
As the second largest city in Denmark, here the struggle for an apartment is serious, too. In order to secure a student dormitory, you need to submit documents for it before your admisson to the desired university. To do this, you must register in a special portal and monitor your monthly ranking. Prices vary depending on the neighborhood, the type and size of the accommodation you choose to rent.
