The University College of Northern Denmark (UCN) prides itself on innovative and modern teaching methods. The classes are international and you will work on joint projects as well as take part in many activities organized by UCN. Whether it’s sports competitions, parties, various tours or sightseeing trips, make no mistake – you will not be bored! UCN encourages the different opinions and the open discussions, thus striving to best assess each student.

The university is located in Aalborg and is divided into several faculties. The International students use the Sofiendalsvej and Hobrovej 85 buildings. You will have 24-hour access to the buildings, where you will be able to use the IT systems, the library and all other modern technology.

Student Life at University College of Northern Denmark (UCN)

Aalborg and UCN are the city are a match made in heaven. The city is the fourth largest in Denmark with a population of about 130,000 and you will often hear foreign speech while walking in the center around the fountains next to the City Hall or along the well-known “Party Street” throughout Denmark – Jomfru Anne Gade or as it is called by the locals, just “The Street” – “Gaden”.

In the recent years, UCN has paid great attention to its international students through its University Ambassadors, who regularly organize events such as movie nights, theme parties, sports competitions and you name it.

Aalborg Carnival

If you decide to study in Aalborg, you will most definitely witness something that few have the chance to experience in their lifetime – the Aalborg Carnival. It is difficult to describe in words this phenomenon, which happens at the end of May. We strongly advise you to get a day off from work on the Carnival Day!!! No amount is worth missing the Carnival, especially if you live in the city. The Carnival is the largest in northern Europe, with about 100,000 visitors gathering on the city’s streets each year. Be ready for something indescribable, from morning to late evening, if of course you are strong enough to withstand it!
