Software Engineering (BA)

What is the program all about?

The duration of the Software Engineering program in Denmark is 3.5 years, consisting of 7 semesters. The focus of the program is on teamwork, but it also contains elements of business development. Most subjects are related to group projects, and each semester, the knowledge you acquire is combined for a final project that you defend in the end by oral presentation. During the first two semesters you will receive the basics of all specializations. At the end of the second semester you will have to choose one of the four subspecialties:

1. Data Engineering – Analyzing, storing and encrypting information.
2. Cross Media – Create mobile applications and video games.
3. AR / VR – Work with digital animation, sensors and virtual reality.
4. Internet of things (IoT) – Real-time programming of electronic devices and systems.
In the following semesters you will have specialized subjects and projects.
5th semester, internship in a company of your choice.
6th semester, you can choose the courses you want to study.
7th semester, you are working on your bachelor’s project.

Admission requirements and needed documents.

For your documents to be reviewed, you must have:
English – level B.
Mathematics – level A.
Physics – level B.

1. Motivation letter.
2. Diploma for completed secondary education or academic transcript (for the last 3 years with grades and number of hours of teaching).
3. Verification form.
4. Copy of your ID card or passport.
5. English certificate.

What can you continue studying or where can you work?

After completing the bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering in Denmark, you will be able to pursue various master’s degrees in Denmark. You can view all master’s degrees in Denmark. If you want to continue your education outside of Denmark, this is also possible. Contact us to avoid mistakes.

You can work as a software engineer in any field. You should know that the position of software engineer is one of the best paid in general, which easily exceeds amounts of 5000-7500 EURO per month.

Personal opinion and practical experience

Alternatively or in parallel, you can start working in a company that needs a software engineer. There are a lot of these companies! It is very possible to be hired by the company where you were an intern, as long as you present yourself in a good light.
The hardest part for me was working in groups all the time. This was the drastic difference of the Danish education. The requirement of mathematics and physics is quite symbolic, as there are not many subjects related to high school training in these sciences. Learning Danish is not extremely important in computer environments, but it can be useful and very accessible to students.
