Web Development (Top up)
What is the program all about?
The Web Development program is a top-up Bachelor program (1.5 years). During the 3 semesters that the program continues, you will have 2 semesters in which you will study different technologies for front-end and back-end programming (the technologies will vary depending on the university), while in the 3rd semester you will have an internship in a company, as well as you must write your bachelor’s thesis. All universities keep up up-to-date, so your lecturers will always show you the latest and most up-to-date technologies that the industry is looking for and developing. Most often you will work on different projects in groups, but there are also several individual projects in which your lecturers will make sure that the code you have written is authentic and not copied from somewhere, as well as whether you have worked with someone else. However, this should not bother you, because the requirements for you will be consistent with what you have studied so far and with enough dedication and attending lectures you should have no problem submitting a unique project, which you will be proud of.
What are the admission requirements and what documents do you need to submit?
For your documents to be reviewed, you must have:
- AP Degree in Design, Technology and Business, Multimedia Design или IT & Networks (or academic reference). If you have studied abroad – a bachelor’s degree in a similar specialty or at least 5 completed semesters.
- Motivation letter.
- Copy of your ID card or passport.
- Other documents (if you don’t want to rely solely on your grades).

You will have the opportunity to work in consulting or software companies in the IT business. In a few years, you will be able to handle the full functionality of planning and creating an architecture for complex web systems. You will also be able to continue your career as an independent consultant.
Personal opinion and practical experience
The program requires dedication, to read and do the exercises from the lectures. Otherwise, most probably at some point everything will get very difficult and you will not be able to pass a project or exam. Self-learning outside the university is also not a bad idea as it can have a positive effect on your projects and results. Needless to say, there are not enough IT professionals, which means that with a medium level of knowledge and skills, you will certainly find a job in the sphere if you make an effort to do so, of course. The salary for inexperienced web developers usually starts at 25,000 kroner – 3250 EURO and increases depending on the years of experience.
