Sport and Event Management (Top up)

What is the program all about?

If you have been involved in sports, love competing and the taste of victory, then the Sport Management program in Denmark will not disappoint you. At the beginning of the year, your teachers will ask you what your sports preferences are in order to adapt the material to what you will use in the future. Sports management also includes the organization of all kinds of events – from weddings to concerts and festivals. You will have the opportunity to work with Danish sports organizations and brands such as Hummels, Aalborg Vikings, AaB, Fitness World, Sport Master, Roskilde and Nibe Festival and many others. You will study subjects such as Sport Marketing and Management, Spot Finance, Motivation, Sport Economics, Sport Law and others, which will give you the necessary knowledge to know what is happening in the sports sector and how sports organizations are managed. Many examples and visits to various sports organizations in the country and abroad are waiting for you. Usually, at the end of the second semester, an excursion abroad is organized for exchange purposes.

Admission requirements and needed documents.

For your documents to be reviewed, you must have:

1. AP Degree in Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management; Financial Management; Marketing Management (or academic transcript). If you have studied iabraod – a bachelor’s degree in a similar specialty or at least 5 completed semesters.
2. Motivation letter.
3. Diploma for completed secondary education or academic transcript (for the last 3 years with grades and number of hours of teaching).
4. Verification form.
5. Copy of your ID card or passport.
6. English certificate.
7. Other (unless want to rely solely on your grades)

What can you continue studying or where can you work?

After completing the top up Sport Management in Denmark, you will be able to continue with a master’s degree in Denmark. You can, for example, enroll in a Master’s degree in Sport Management at the University of Southern Denmark.

You will have the opportunity to work in the field of all sports – sports clubs and associations in various positions. Remember that here we also include the organization of small or large events such as weddings, concerts, festivals and more. You will be able to get involved in organizing what you are really interested in and want to do.

Personal opinion and practical experience

During my bachelor’s degree I had the opportunity to organize over 100 different events for students in Aalborg. I can say that the program has helped me a lot in practical terms, from an organizational and financial perspective. I had the chance to personally interview the Danish national basketball coach for one of my projects. At that time, I still did not speak Danish at all and was looking for realization outside the country. My program director offered me to do my internship in one of the few sports clubs in the Netherlands, but I had already found another internship and spent 6 months in a company in London, which organizes various events, which managed to make my dream come true. – to live in London. I want to emphasize that the program will not make you a professional athlete. On the contrary, it prepares you to work with them so that they can achieve (achieve together with you) optimal results.
