Climate and Supply Engineering (BA) in Denmark

Climate and Supply Engineering is an English-taught Bachelor of Engineering program offered at VIA University College in Horsens, Denmark. If you want a career in renewable resources and green technology, Denmark is a powerful choice – a whole country built around sustainability. You will work with drinking water, wastewater and different kinds of energy, and you get a strong theoretical foundation together with a practical, real-world approach to solving problems. What is the program all about?

The program takes 3.5 years (7 semesters), and every semester has its own theme. You start with soil and water – landscape planning and designing underground installations for water, wastewater and district heating. Then come climate and environment, where you work with real climate data; land development and construction, where you plan excavation projects and calculate hydraulic conditions in the network; and supply and distribution, where you analyse data for a real area and make both engineering and financial decisions about utility lines.

Internship and bachelor project

The fifth semester is a 20-week internship in a Danish or international company, where you test your knowledge in practice and see what the life of an engineer in this field really looks like. Some students even spend it in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, working on the front line of climate adaptation. The last two semesters are dedicated to your specialisation and bachelor project, usually developed together with a utility company or a consulting engineering firm.

After graduating you can continue with a master’s degree in Denmark or abroad, or start working right away as an engineer in green energy and supply – specialists who are increasingly in demand worldwide.
